2/3 of American adults are overweight. And 1/3 of those are obese.
With crazy, jam-packed schedules and the ease of unhealthy fast food options, it’s easy to understand how our nation has transformed into a society with ever-expanding waistlines.
In 2012, Mississippi took the prize for being the fattest state in the nation. And while Florida doesn’t rank in the top 10, we certainly aren’t the leanest state by any stretch of the imagination. 62.4% of Florida’s population falls into the overweight category with 25.9% spilling into the obese range. But we don’t have to continue falling prey to this unhealthy trend. Simple changes in our everyday routine can not only help us lose weight but also reduce our risk for some of the diseases and health ailments commonly associated with excess weight.

Losing weight doesn’t have to be a challenge. Simple changes in your everyday routine can make a big difference in your weight loss results.
For instance, below are some small changes you can make in your everyday routine to help you lose weight:
- Swap out 1 soda a day for a glass of water.
- Take the stairs instead of the elevator.
- Eat balanced meals that include lean protein and low glycemic vegetables or fruits.
- Get up every hour from your desk to walk around.
- Exercise during commercial breaks while watching your favorite TV shows.
It’s simple changes like this that can make a drastic impact on your weight loss efforts.
